Touch and Gesture Control Through Armor Glass
Watch a lab demonstration of HoverTap™ Rugged in operation.
HoverTap™ Rugged
—
Rugged Displays for Gloved Hands and Sealed Enclosures
Through armor glass, in heavy gloves
HoverTap™ Rugged senses touch through up to 20mm of cover material and air gap combined, where standard projected capacitive tops out around 2 to 6mm. It works in heavy tactical gloves with no thickness limit, and reads in-air gestures where contact is impractical.
Selected for testing by DRDC
HoverTap™ Rugged has been selected for testing by Defence Research and Development Canada.

Competitive Advantages
Real-time 3D fingertip tracking, read as command input
Unaffected by rain, humidity, oil or grease on the outer surface. No false touches
Flush design with no protruding elements to break or snag
Replace the cover, not the display. The sacrificial layer is a sheet of polycarbonate
1:1 retrofit into existing displays. HDMI in, USB-HID out, 7″ to 43″
Operates like a standard touchscreen. No operator retraining
Compatible with sealed enclosures rated for dust, immersion and salt spray

How Deployment Works
You identify the equipment that has to work through a barrier: armor glass, a sealed enclosure, or heavy gloves.
The HoverTap™ sensor alone, integrated into your existing display.
The complete assembly, with LCD, controller, firmware and an enclosure specified to your environmental requirements.
We support your team through software integration via the API.
